The kids in your class are probably used to coloring animals but they might not be used to coloring the environments in which animals live. If you want to teach the kids something about animal habitats this is a great exercise. Split the class up into groups and have each group color a large panorama of a landscape. Place different landscapes and habitats in different parts of the room. Provide pictures to the students so that they have a general idea of the appropriate colors. Then cut out the animals the children have been drawing and attach them to the habitats. The finished product is an attractive image of a wildlife scene that can teach the children a great deal about their favorite animals. It will also help to teach them the importance of preserving habitat.
Kids are so fond of playing with each other. They are playing to enjoy themselves and have a good time with their friends. The cutest things on earth that kids love to enjoy the most are the animals. Purchasing books that tells about animals for your child is a very good thing to do. Kids of young age are so very curious about their environment. A strange thing or anything that they saw for the first time mostly drives their curiosity. Their curiosity could also be stimulated by animals, which they see for the first time.
When you are satisfied that you have an accurate drawing go ahead and paint in the base color of the animal. The base color is usually light and gets darker as you build the layers. Don't worry about making it look like fur or hair at this point. Next, use a dark color such as black or burnt umber to fill in the outline of the eyes, deep shadows, or other very dark areas. You will need to paint in the eyes, nose, mouth, paws, etc. If your drawing is detailed enough you should be able to do this by using a very small detail brush. Just outline everything and then fill it in with appropriate colors.
