They just use whatever color they like and apply it on the picture. As a preschool teacher, I recommend that you just let your child color the way he/she likes it. As mush as possible, refrain from instructing what colors to use. Or worse, criticize them. Instead, let them develop their creativity and imagination by giving them free reign on what colors to use. Anyways, there′s plenty of time of them to follow rules when they grow up. For now, let′s just let them be creative.
