Teaching children the correct way to form letters is much more important than most people think. Children must learn to start at the top of the letter and end at the bottom right of the letter (in most cases). Using correct letter formation helps children write more quickly and more accurately. There are several ways to teach correct letter formation, but one of the most effective is using letter formation prompts. To use a prompt, have your child say the prompt out loud as he or she traces or writes the letter. When your child has formed the letter, have him say the letter name out loud.
There are many free worksheets available, especially online, but still the best worksheet is one that you personally draft. This way, you are able to match the level of difficulty of the activity in accordance to the performance level of your own students. It is not bad to reuse worksheets for another batch of students, but once in a while it is also better to vary the activities you give to kids. Worksheets can be made for fun if it is attuned to the current interests of kids. The kids will respond better to activities close to their own interests.
Write the alphabet all over the ball, writing each letter randomly and not all in order. Now stand across from your kids and bounce the ball to them. As you bounce the ball, call out one of the spelling words. Not only do they catch the ball, they then search for the letter on the alphabet ball and call it out while showing you the letter. If they get the letter right, they bounce the ball back to you and you say the next letter in the word after you find the letter on the ball, taking turns until the word is complete.
An alphabet puzzle is definitely an effective way to teach your kid the ABC mainly because it allows him to visualize the letters inside alphabet although placing them along in order. For this game you will have to have large foam alphabet puzzle pieces. Instruct your child to put the puzzle jointly making sure that the alphabet is in correct order. He can not match two incorrect alphabet letters next to each other expected on the various puzzle piece shapes. Permit your child to run through the puzzle the moment as demo. Then, have him put the puzzle along again though you time him having a stopwatch. Play the puzzle game daily and time him each time till his score will get better and better.
